HM3D 3D Scene Evaluation

Evaluating a dataset of 1,000 real 3D scenes requires more than spot-checking—you need systematic quality assessment across every dimension that matters for downstream AI applications. We built a comprehensive evaluation framework covering mesh quality (topology continuity, no broken faces), texture integrity (UV correctness, resolution), semantic annotation accuracy (v0.2 error corrections), and metadata completeness (15+ dimensions per scene).

The result: 4.62/5 overall score with 100% acceptance pass rate across all 8 client criteria. 95% of requirements were perfectly matched, with the remaining 5% being addressable limitations (academic-only license, 21.6% semantic annotation coverage). The evaluation report included actionable recommendations and a decision matrix for different use cases—from embodied AI to VR/AR prototyping.
